1. Our Promise
Unfyltered was built on a simple belief: real connections start with real people. We are committed to fostering a community where every member feels safe, valued, and empowered to be their authentic self. These Community Guidelines exist to protect that vision.
Every person on Unfyltered deserves to have a positive experience — regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, religion, caste, ethnicity, age, disability, or background. By using Unfyltered, you agree to abide by these guidelines and help us build a community rooted in respect, honesty, and kindness.
We actively enforce these rules. Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent removal from the platform, depending on the severity of the behaviour.
2. Be Authentic
Authenticity is the foundation of Unfyltered. We expect every member to represent themselves honestly so that connections are built on trust from the very start.
- Use your real identity. Your profile must represent you as a real person. Do not create profiles for fictional characters, pets, organisations, or anyone other than yourself.
- Use recent, genuine photos. All profile photos must be of you and should accurately reflect your current appearance. Do not use heavily filtered, misleading, or AI-generated images that misrepresent who you are.
- Be honest about yourself. Provide truthful information about your age, name, occupation, and other profile details. Misrepresenting material facts — such as your age or relationship status — is a violation of these guidelines.
- One account per person. Each individual may maintain only one Unfyltered account. Creating multiple accounts, including to circumvent a ban, is strictly prohibited.
- No impersonation. Do not impersonate another person, whether a public figure, celebrity, or private individual. Parody or fan accounts are not permitted.
3. Be Respectful
Treat every member of the Unfyltered community with the same respect and dignity you would expect for yourself. Healthy connections are built on mutual respect.
- No hate speech or discrimination. Do not post content or send messages that attack, demean, or dehumanise individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, caste, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- No harassment or bullying. Repeated unwanted contact, intimidation, threats, name-calling, or any behaviour intended to humiliate, degrade, or frighten another person is strictly prohibited.
- No body-shaming. Do not make negative, mocking, or unsolicited comments about another person's physical appearance, body size, or physical characteristics.
- Respect boundaries. If someone does not respond to your message, declines your interest, or asks you to stop contacting them, respect their decision. Persistence after a clear "no" constitutes harassment.
- Keep conversations civil. Disagreements are natural, but they should be expressed respectfully. Personal attacks, insults, and aggressive language have no place on Unfyltered.
4. Keep It Safe
Your safety and the safety of our community are our highest priorities. We have zero tolerance for behaviour that puts anyone at risk.
- No threats of violence. Do not threaten, incite, or glorify violence against any person or group, whether directly or through implication. This includes threats made in anger, as jokes, or hypothetically.
- No illegal activity. Do not use Unfyltered to facilitate, promote, or engage in any illegal activity, including but not limited to drug trafficking, human trafficking, money laundering, fraud, or the sale of illegal goods or services.
- No minors. Unfyltered is exclusively for adults aged 18 and above. If we discover that a user is under 18, their account will be immediately removed. If you suspect an underage user, please report them to us immediately.
- Protect personal information. Do not share another person's private information — including their phone number, home or work address, financial details, or any other personally identifiable information — without their explicit consent. This applies both on and off the platform.
- No scams or fraud. Do not attempt to deceive other users for financial gain. This includes soliciting money, promoting get-rich-quick schemes, phishing, catfishing for financial exploitation, or impersonating someone to extract personal or financial information.
- Report suspicious behaviour. If you encounter behaviour that makes you feel unsafe or that you believe violates these guidelines, please report it immediately using the in-app reporting tools. Your reports are confidential.
5. Consent Matters
Consent is non-negotiable on Unfyltered. Every interaction — whether online or offline — must be based on mutual, enthusiastic, and ongoing agreement.
- Respect digital consent. Do not send unsolicited sexually explicit messages, images, or content. Just because someone matched with you does not mean they have consented to receiving sexual content.
- No non-consensual sharing. Do not share, distribute, or threaten to share intimate images or private conversations of another person without their explicit consent. This is a serious violation that may also constitute a criminal offence under Indian law (Section 66E of the IT Act and related provisions).
- Consent can be withdrawn. A person has the right to change their mind at any time. Respect this right in every interaction, both within the app and when meeting in person.
- No coercion or pressure. Do not pressure, manipulate, guilt-trip, or coerce anyone into sharing personal information, meeting in person, engaging in intimate conversations, or performing any action they are uncomfortable with.
- Understand that a match is not an obligation. Matching with someone is an expression of initial interest, not a commitment. Every person retains the right to end a conversation or unmatch at any time without explanation.
6. Content Rules
All content you share on Unfyltered — including photos, text, bios, and messages — must comply with these guidelines. Content that violates these rules will be removed, and your account may be actioned.
- No sexually explicit content. Nudity, pornographic imagery, and sexually explicit content are not permitted in profile photos, bios, community posts, or event images. This includes content that is partially obscured but clearly sexual in nature.
- No graphic violence. Do not share images, videos, or descriptions of graphic violence, gore, or content that depicts or glorifies harm to people or animals.
- No promotion of self-harm. Content that promotes, encourages, or trivialises self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders is prohibited. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a helpline such as iCall (9152987821) or Vandrevala Foundation (1860-2662-345).
- No spam or commercial content. Do not use Unfyltered to promote products, services, businesses, or external websites. This includes unsolicited advertising, chain messages, and multi-level marketing schemes.
- No misinformation. Do not deliberately spread false or misleading information, including health misinformation, conspiracy theories, or fabricated news intended to cause public harm or panic.
- Intellectual property. Do not post content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrighted images, music, or text that you do not have permission to use.
7. Community & Events Rules
Unfyltered communities and events are spaces for people with shared interests to connect in meaningful ways. To keep these spaces welcoming and safe, additional rules apply.
- Stay on topic. Contribute to communities in a way that is relevant to the community's stated purpose. Off-topic posts, derailing discussions, or repeatedly posting irrelevant content may be removed.
- No gatekeeping. Communities are open to everyone who shares a genuine interest. Do not belittle, exclude, or test other members to determine if they are "real" fans, enthusiasts, or participants.
- Respect community moderators. Community moderators are volunteers who help maintain a positive environment. Follow their guidance, and do not harass, threaten, or attempt to undermine them.
- Event safety. When attending Unfyltered events, conduct yourself respectfully and safely. Harassment, aggressive behaviour, intoxication to the point of disruptiveness, or any conduct that makes other attendees uncomfortable is not tolerated. Event organisers and Unfyltered staff reserve the right to remove anyone from an event.
- No solicitation at events. Do not use Unfyltered events as opportunities to promote businesses, sell products, recruit for external organisations, or solicit personal information from attendees.
- Report community issues. If you observe behaviour in a community or at an event that violates these guidelines, use the in-app reporting tools or speak to an event organiser or Unfyltered staff member.
8. Reporting & Enforcement
We take every report seriously and investigate all complaints thoroughly. Our moderation team works around the clock to keep Unfyltered safe.
How to Report
- In-app reporting: Tap the three-dot menu on any profile, message, community post, or event page and select "Report." You will be guided through a brief process to describe the issue.
- Email: You can also email our moderation team directly at moderation@unfyltered.in with details of the issue, including screenshots if available.
- Emergency situations: If you believe someone is in immediate danger, please contact local law enforcement first, then report the situation to us.
What Happens After a Report
Once a report is submitted, our moderation team reviews it promptly. Depending on the findings, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Warning: A formal notification informing the user of the violation and the expected behaviour going forward.
- Content removal: Offending content (photos, bios, messages, community posts) will be removed from the platform.
- Temporary suspension: The user's account may be temporarily suspended for a defined period, during which they cannot access the app.
- Feature restriction: Certain features (such as messaging, community posting, or event attendance) may be restricted for the user.
- Permanent ban: For severe or repeated violations, the user's account will be permanently removed from Unfyltered. Banned users are prohibited from creating new accounts.
- Legal referral: In cases involving illegal activity, threats to safety, or content that violates Indian law, we may refer the matter to law enforcement authorities.
Confidentiality
All reports are treated confidentially. We do not reveal the identity of the person who filed a report to the person being reported, except where required by law. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who files a good-faith report.
9. Appeals Process
We understand that mistakes can happen, and we believe in fairness. If you believe that an enforcement action taken against your account was made in error, you have the right to appeal.
- How to appeal: Send an email to moderation@unfyltered.in with the subject line "Appeal: [Your Username]." In the body of the email, explain why you believe the action was incorrect and provide any relevant evidence or context.
- Review timeline: Our moderation team will review your appeal within 7 business days. Complex cases may take longer, but we will keep you informed of the progress.
- Decision: After reviewing your appeal, we will notify you of our decision by email. If the enforcement action is overturned, your account and any affected features will be restored. If the original decision is upheld, we will provide an explanation of the reasoning.
- Final decision: Each account action may be appealed once. The decision on the appeal is final.
